Los Tubos MTB Trail, Manati

A scenic coastal trail system with ocean views, shaded paths, and one of the most underrated ways to explore Puerto Rico’s north coast.

A large coastal trail network near Los Tubos in Manati that offers one of the best ways to experience the north coast beyond just the beach. While known as a mountain biking area, the terrain is also ideal for hiking and exploring, with a mix of shaded wooded paths and open stretches along the coastline.

The trails wind through a varied landscape — sections of tree cover, pockets of sand, small caves, and occasional openings to ocean views. It’s the kind of place where you can wander, take your time, and find different scenery depending on the path you choose.

The terrain is approachable, with mostly gentle inclines and natural flow, making it more of a relaxed coastal walk than a demanding hike. It’s a great option if you want movement, shade, and exploration without committing to something too intense.

This is one of those spots that locals know well, but many visitors overlook — especially if they only stick to the beach.

What to Expect

  • Wide network of interconnected trails

  • Mix of shaded paths + coastal openings

  • Light elevation changes (easy to moderate)

  • Occasional caves and rock features

  • Quiet, local feel away from crowds

Why it's special

  • Great add-on to a Los Tubos beach day

Tips

  • Easy to lose track of time exploring — plan accordingly

Pro Tip

Most people go straight to the beach at Los Tubos — but the trail system just nearby offers a completely different experience. Do the trail first, then hit the beach after. You’ll get both sides of the coastline in one stop.
